ARTIST BIO

Larry is a skilled self employed woodworker with a passion for music and painting. He is a harmonica player and blues singer who plays with his award winning band Trouble & Strife and his solo band Larry Kurtz & The Lawbreakers. He is also the Founder & Artistic Director of the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival. His favorite subject to paint is musicians. “I try to capture the intensity and emotion of playing to a live audience” says Larry. He also likes to paint our natural world and many sports activities. His paintings in acrylic on canvas have been displayed in Dragonfly Arts in Orangeville, Framed X Designs, Orangeville Tourism Centre,  Brushfire Artists show and sale, the Blues Pop Up Gallery in the Museum in Kitchener, the Orangeville Blues  Jazz Festival, and in private showings in Toronto. His work is featured on the cover of Canadian blues guitar legend Jack de Keyzer’s album “Voodoo Boogie”.
